What is grief ?
Grief is the natural reaction to loss. Grief is both a universal and a personal experience. Individual experiences of grief vary and are influenced by the nature of the loss.
The grieving process ?
Grieving is painful, and it’s important that those who have suffered a loss be allowed to express their grief. It’s also important that they be supported throughout the process.
Helping yourself heal
Express your grief openly. By sharing your grief outside yourself, healing occurs. Ignoring your grief won’t make it go away; talking about it often makes you feel better. Allow yourself to speak from your heart, not just your head. Doing so doesn’t mean you are losing control, or going “crazy.” It is a normal part of your grief journey.
Accepting a loss
Grieving is the process of accepting loss. Please remember that it is a natural process that we must go through in the face of loss.
